Hello Friends! Well, the hot, oppressive, dog-days of summer are upon us. I have one dog that loves these days, and one, not so much. Our grumpy old fella can take the hot weather or leave it. He likes to lay out in the sun for about 5 minutes, then he gets hot, and he's ready to come back into the A/C. Our girl would literally melt her brain out on our sunporch if I would let her! I, of course, don't let her. I make her come in and lay on the couch for a while, too.
We are continuing to do a lot of work on the house, the landscaper and the door instillation will be coming up this week and next week. Then, hopefully this season-long trek to home-improvement will be close to an end. We also need to get a new boiler put in before winter starts to kick our butts again, but that's it. I swear! :)
So, guess what?! I was able to finish up the quilt that was on my frame last week, the binding needs to be turned and the tag needs to be put on it, but other than that... ;) I also started and finished a quilt top this week, and IT is already on my longarm as well! I did Elizabeth Hartman's Llama pattern (I did the small version, just one llama) I used mainly fabric from my stash and bought the linen for the background. I also got this adorable llama print by Dear Stella for the backing. Sorry it's upside-down, but it's already on the frame. And also? The good news is that I bought this fabric a long time ago, so I didn't bring any fabric in!
That has affected my stash numbers, let's check it out, shall we?
Fabric in this week: 0 yards
Fabric out this week: 6.625 yards
Net Fabric this week: -6.625 yards
Net Fabric 2018: 86.727 yards
So, look it's not even close to being negative yardage for the year, but I am getting closer. My spread sheet thinks that I'm going to be well over 200 yards by the end of the year if I keep up the trending that I have been doing, but I'm confident that I have everything for *most* of the quilts that I want to do in the second half of the year (yeah, that's where we are now, squarely in the second half of the year!).
Also this week, I have started working on my quilt tagging. I will talk about that next time. So, until then:
Piece and Longarm!
