Goals and Resolutions
I'm not much of a New Year's Resolutions person. I think the format of a New Year's Resolution is too vague and easy to get around for me. I tend to need a little more planning, structure, and accountability to keep myself on track, so I tend to make a set of goals for the year. This year my goals were as follows:
- Keep up with orders and complete 2 "Quarterly Quilts".
I did just OK on keeping this goal, I got 6 of the 8 quilts done for my "Quarterly projects," and I was able to keep up with orders. It was the 4th quarter quilts that I didn't get to. I did however finish a lot more quilts than I expected to this year, so I guess that the 2 that I didn't finish shouldn't be my focus, but it was a goal and I only partially attained it.
- Make a quilt for my Auntie.
Done and done, she got it in time for a nice Christmas gift. :)
- Do weekly fabric reporting and achieve a net negative of fabric for the year.
I did much better at this than I had expected to. I actually used 30+ yards more fabric than I bought, so that means 30 yards of old fabric is gone from my stash (YAY!). I actually really enjoyed working on this goal and was very satisfied with the results! I got some fabric in the mail yesterday, though, so I'm going to start almost 5 yards to the positive next year... :) Another fight for another year, right?
- Enter a quilt in QuiltCon.
I actually decided to wait until 2019 to enter my quilt, because I am planning on going to QuiltCon in Nashville. So that goal is carrying over into this year. Stay tuned for updates on that one.
So all in all, I would say that my goals were very well accomplished this year. I am making some last minute tweaks to my goals for 2018, so stay tuned in the coming days to see what those are!
What are your goals, quilting or otherwise for 2018?
